According to Webster dictionary, an option is a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter.
On any given day I can have an honest opinion about a matter. The next moment my opinion can change. Different things can alter my view or judgement. My experience with a matter may give me a different perspective. Revelation from the Lord may enlighten my understanding. Truth revealed over time could also affect my opinion.
Can you see where I’m going with this?
If not….let me explain. If so….still let me explain! (Smiling hard at my own sense of humor)
Our opinion changes with experience, revelation, and time. The Word 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 AKA The Savior, the Way, the Truth, the Life, the First, the Beginning, the Last, the End, the One, is not like us in this sense! The Word doesn’t change with experience because He has experienced all and succeeded!
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
The Word doesn’t change with revelation (this is a good one!) because He is Revelation. The Word doesn’t change with time. He is the same yesterday today and forever!
So the whole point is for us to be mindful of allowing our finite opinion to alter our view of life when the infinite Word is readily available to steer and direct us into eternal life. I heard someone say, “the Word is the SUPREME authority” and I loved it! Let this be the testimony of our lives.
Can I say another thing??
No matter what….God is still God.
